Shawn Yazdani, M.D.

Dr. Shawn Yazdani received his Bachelor’s Degree Cum Laude from New York University in 1987. He continued his education at New York University finishing medical school in 1991. Dr. Yazdani then completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. In 1997 he completed his fellowship in Cardiology at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital and he completed his training in interventional cardiology at Mount Sinai Hospital in 1998. He is board certified in cardiovascular diseases, interventional cardiology and nuclear cardiology.

Dr. Yazdani spent two years in private practice in Leigh High Valley, PA. and later moved to Northern Virginia to be closer to his family. In 2000, Dr. Shawn Yazdani joined Virginia Cardiovascular Associates in private practice located in Northern Virginia.
His clinical interests include catheter based cardiac and vascular procedures as well as cardiac rhythm management; including pacemaker implants for bradyarhythmias.

Dr. Yazdani has been recognized by The Washingtonian Magazine and Consumer’s Report as a top cardiologist in the area.

Dr. Yazdani and his wife, Forough, a general dentist in Vienna, have three children: Zachary, Hannah and Heidi. Dr. Yazdani spends his downtime from his busy schedule enjoying reading and activities with his family. He enjoys tennis and is also an avid skier.
