Alireza Maghsoudi , M.D.

Dr.  Maghsoudi grew up in northern Virginia and attended the University of Virginia, earning a BA in biology.  He then attended Medical College of Virginia in Richmond and finished his internal medicine residency at Georgetown University.  He finished his cardiology fellowship at Washington Hospital Center/Georgetown University, one of the busiest cardiac centers in the country. 

Additionally he underwent a one year fellowship in advanced cardiac imaging at Harvard’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital where he worked closely with some of the most prominent leaders in the field of cardiac imaging.

Dr. Maghsoudi has extensive training in new imaging modalities such as coronary CTA, cardiac MR, vascular CT/MR and cardiac PET.  He has earned the highest level of training in these imaging modalities.  In addition he has special interest and expertise in transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography.  His research interest in cardiac MRI has been presented in international meetings.   He is active in many cardiac imaging societies.

In his spare time, he enjoys biking, hiking, salsa, playing the trumpet and listening to Jazz.
