Dr. Chu was born in Korea. He graduated from the University of Maryland in 1987. He continued his education and training at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, PA earning his MD in 1992. He did his internship from 1992-1993, then continued his training to complete his residency program in internal medicine in 1995.
He did his fellowship in cardiology from 1995-1998 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pa.
Dr. Chu is a Diplomat in the American Board of Internal Medicine/Cardiovascular Disease. His continued education has focused on new developments in hypertension, vascular imaging and doppler ultrasound, early detection of cardiovascular disease, management of acute coronary syndrome/congestive heart failure and the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias.
After his training he went into private practice and was on staff with Northern Virginia Cardiology Associates in Manassas, VA from 1998 to June, 2001. He later joined with and became a partner at the practice.
He enjoys traveling, fishing and skiing. He and his wife have one son and live in Fairfax County, VA. In addition, he loves playing golf and has achieved many awards while participating in charitable events.
